1843 – 1935
The Company Secretary administered the Cemetery and acted as Registrar, maintaining the Burial Records. They were established local solicitors and accountants who took on this essentially honorary role, for which they received £20 per year. From 1865 they were members of the Peters family, still present in the City as PEM (Peters, Elworthy and Moore). A Board of Trustees met regularly to oversee the management of the Cemetery.
