In 2007 an extensive consultation exercise was undertaken. We distributed 2000 questionnaires to local residents of which some 450 were completed and returned. Analysis of these views has informed the changes we have made. We are grateful to Guy Belcher, Nature Conservation Projects Officer for the City for advice and support. The Cemetery is highly valued as a ‘green space’ in a built up urban environment. By increasing the variety of trees, shrubs and wildflowers we hope to improve the diversity of habitats and wildlife whilst preserving the formal appearance and appeal of the Cemetery.
